At AuDHD UK, we know how difficult it can be to find clear, trustworthy information about autism and ADHD. Research is constantly developing, but much of it sits behind academic language, paywalls, or scattered online sources. That is why we welcome resources that make evidence more accessible to autistic and ADHD people, families, carers, and professionals.
We were recently contacted by Better Health For Everyone, a small independent research hub run by Rachael and James from their home in Wales. They have created a free autism research library that brings together carefully sourced research and information in one place, and we are pleased to share it with our community.
The library is designed to help people explore autism in greater depth. It brings together relevant sources so that autistic people, families, carers, professionals, and anyone with an interest in autism can find credible information and develop a better understanding of autistic experiences.
Although autism research is extensive and continually evolving, finding reliable and accessible information is not always straightforward. Academic papers can be difficult to navigate, and the quality of information online varies considerably. Better Health For Everyone was created around the belief that people should be able to access well-sourced material that helps them explore the evidence, consider different perspectives, and make more informed decisions about the information they encounter.
As an independent project, Better Health For Everyone is driven by a personal commitment to autism and a desire to contribute something useful to the wider community. The team recognises the importance of listening to autistic people, respecting the diversity of autistic experiences, and continuing to improve public understanding. The hub also highlights some of the barriers autistic people can face, including difficulties accessing diagnosis, appropriate support, and mental health care. As with any resource, we encourage readers to consider the information alongside their own experiences and, where relevant, seek advice from qualified professionals.
We hope this library will be a useful starting point for anyone wanting to learn more about autism, whether they are new to the subject or looking for research to support further reading.
