Peer Support Coordinator

Location: Remote (UK-based preferred)
Reports to: Clinical & Care Coordinator
Commitment: Flexible, part-time (details negotiable)
Role: Unpaid volunteer position
Purpose: To coordinate and support the peer support volunteer team, ensuring effective rota management, safeguarding, and wellbeing support in line with AuDHD UK’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

Rota Management

  • Create and manage weekly rotas for peer support volunteers, ensuring adequate coverage for all sessions.

  • Address scheduling conflicts promptly and fairly, maintaining open communication with all volunteers.

  • Adjust rotas as needed to accommodate volunteer availability and organisational needs.

Safeguarding

  • Liaise with Peer Support Workers about safeguarding concerns, escalating issues in line with charity policy.

  • Review and document incidents, liaising with the Safeguarding Lead or Clinical Lead as appropriate.

  • Ensure all volunteers are aware of and adhere to safeguarding protocols.

Peer Support Volunteer Wellbeing

  • Conduct regular check-ins with peer support volunteers to monitor wellbeing and provide emotional support.

  • Signpost volunteers to additional resources or support services as needed.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

  • Provide feedback to the Volunteer Coordinator on volunteer needs and process improvements.

  • Assist with onboarding and training of new peer support volunteers.

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, peer support, or related roles (desirable).

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication, empathy, and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Awareness of safeguarding best practices.

  • Commitment to AuDHD UK’s mission and values.

  • Lived experience of AuDHD (desired).

Time Commitment Estimate

  • Rota management: 3–5 hrs/week

  • Safeguarding: 1–2 hrs/week

  • Volunteer wellbeing: 3–4 hrs/week
