Director of Finance
Location: Remote (UK-based preferred)
Reports to: CEO
Commitment: Flexible, part-time (details negotiable)
Role: Unpaid volunteer position
Purpose: To ensure robust financial management, compliance, and strategic oversight of AuDHD UK’s finances whilst maintaining alignment with the charity's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Develop, monitor, and report on annual budgets and forecasts.
Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Oversee monthly reconciliation, bookkeeping, and preparation of management accounts.
Spend Approval
Review and approve expenditure in line with charity policies.
Ensure all spending aligns with organisational priorities and available funds.
Fundraising Compliance
Oversee compliance with fundraising regulations and charity law.
Prepare for and support annual audits; update financial policies as needed.
Advise on financial aspects of grant applications and donor reporting.
Governance & Reporting
Prepare financial reports for the CEO and trustees.
Support the annual accounts submission to the Charity Commission.
Attend trustee meetings to provide financial updates and strategic advice.
Essential Skills & Attributes
Experience in budgeting, accounting, or financial management (charity sector experience desirable).
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
Integrity, reliability, and commitment to the charity’s mission and values.
Lived experience of AuDHD (desired).

Time Commitment Estimate
Budgeting/accounting: 8–10 hrs/month
Spend approval: 3–4 hrs/month
Fundraising compliance: 4–5 hrs/month
Additional hours may be required during audit or peak periods.
